Rivercast™ is a comprehensive tool that provides users with essential river level data through its user-friendly maps and graphs.

Key features of Rivercast™ include:

In addition to providing information on the location of river gauges, Rivercast™ uses color coding to indicate normal levels, approaching flood levels, or flood stage.

The app allows users to access the latest observations from the map, search function, or favorites. Detailed interactive hydrographs can be obtained with a simple tap, and users have the ability to zoom and pan for precise information. Additionally, users can personalize their graphs by adding their own level lines to mark specific details such as sandbars or safe conditions.

The app also allows users to add streams or rivers to their Favorites list for quick and convenient viewing. Rivercast™ utilizes the most up-to-date observation and forecast data, requiring an Internet connection for use.

Users have the option to view Favorites, Map "Instant Observations," and Hydrograph data in feet or cfs (when available). All observation and forecast data is displayed in local time for user convenience.

With its wide range of applications, Rivercast™ proves to be a valuable resource for boaters, fishermen, property owners, paddlers, scientists, marine professionals, and anyone interested in river conditions.

Rivercast™ obtains its data from NOAA and AHPS (Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service), utilizing their raw data for graphing and mapping solutions. While most locations are covered, there are some areas that may not be available through this app but can be accessed through other government agencies such as USGS.

Minor variations may occur in the flow data (CFS) displayed by Rivercast™ compared to USGS due to different data models used by NOAA and USGS. However, stage height should always be consistent between the two sources. Flood stages are determined based on stage height in feet in the United States.

Forecasts may not always be available for all rivers monitored by NOAA. Their issuance may be limited to certain seasons or periods of flooding or high water.

If a river gauge is missing from the app, it may be due to technical issues or seasonal availability. NOAA endeavors to resolve these issues promptly.

While Rivercast™ would like to include all requested locations in the app, it relies on the information provided by NOAA. Therefore, if a location is not reported by NOAA, it cannot be added to the app.

Rivercast™ places great emphasis on accuracy and maintaining the highest level of precision in its data.
